A diesel generator I started this month with the idea of being a game-ready asset. 34k tris. Textures are 2k.
Classic workflow of first doing a rough mesh in Maya, then split to different parts and bring them to Zbrush for the highpoly, then decimate and back to Maya. Then recycling that rough mesh to do the lowpoly. Then UVs, then adjust texel density, then bake in Marmoset, and Substance Painter for the textures. Finally, although I did some screenshots in Marmoset, I also imported the mesh and its textures to Unreal and I gotta say it looks really nice!
After the anouncement of Half-Life Alyx I was so motivated I decided it would be a great idea to reimagine my favorite HL2 EP2 level, the one where you have to fight hordes of antlions with the help of a vortigaunt and two citizens. Then I scrapped that idea for being too out of scope and thought it would be better to just focus on a model right now. And so I did.
So... a fanart of a diesel generator... that's my life now, huh?
