Philosopher's Study

This is, first and foremost, a genuine loveletter to art in videogames. I have spent more time watching the environments Arkane developed for Dishonored 2 than playing the actual game. I have pages and pages of notes about modelling, lighting and worldbuilding, so when I enrolled in the 'Unreal Engine Modular Environments' CGMA course by Clinton Crumpler, doing a fanart of Dishonored's environments was only a natural step.

This project started in Unreal 4, but I later decided to move on to Unreal 5 so I could experiment on Lumen and its new graphic capabilities. What an adventure it has been! The modelling part was entirely done in Blender and some highpoly details were made in Zbrush. The base textures were made in Substance Designer and Substance Painter.
All paintings in the environment are part of the collection of the Museo del Prado, in Madrid. More precisely, from painters in the 19th century.
The original concept art from Dishonored which I used as main inspiration was made by Aimé Jalon.

I would like to thank the CGMA community and Clinton Crumpler for their support.
I would also like to thank the From Vertex to Poly community, specially to Aitor, Javier and Argain.
